  • Why not?  "Jekyl and Hyde" is a bit of fun but  deliberately not Dr Jeckyl or Dr Jeckyll or Dr Jekyll to avoid confusion with troubled fictional characters.

Love of Audio Recording

  • I developed my love of sound recording in the 1970's when I started multi-part audio recording of my own performances by adding new parts with a microphone whilst "bouncing" sound between an old, Reel-to-Reel and a cassette recorder.  I later progressed via stereo to 4-track cassette, 8-track reel-to-reel, 8-track cassette and, finally the current top-notch, 24-track digital hard disc recorder set-up.  I love to keep learning about and practicing sound recording.

Recording CD's

  • Over the years I have recorded CDs for brass bands, silver bands, string quartets, country bands, Jazz bands, gypsy swing bands, Guggenmusik bands, rock bands, spoken voice, sound FX, musical shows, choirs, etc in recording locations that include pubs, clubs, front rooms, theatres, town halls, village halls, lecture theatres, churches, school halls and my home studio.   As a sound engineer covering live sound and SFX, I have worked with live theatrical productions, stage musical shows, school productions and band performances of different types.

Sound Engineer and Performer

  • Since 1979, I have written, played and recorded music with the band ‘Trace’ and also played guitar or been sound-engineer  for ‘Turnham Green Blues Band’, and the live show bands ’Underdog’ and ‘Fusionz’.

  • I am currently the guitarist, lead and backing vocalist, occasional bass guitarist, sound and recording engineer, technical guru and Musical Director of Premium Banana - A Popular party Band and Wedding Band

  • I have been a Musical Director for several of the Community of Hungerford town shows including  Happy As A Sandbag, Salad Days, Scrooge, Carousel, Blitz! and Oliver!

  • I also perform on stage and have been involved in theatre and stage musical show productions, both in singing and non-singing roles.  In Feb 2010 I played Enoch Snow in Carousel.   In recent years I played Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, Wang Chi Yang in Flower Drum Song, Horace Vandergelder in Hello, Dolly! and Alfred Locke in Blitz! In 2008 I played Clive Debanks, lead character in the farce "Love Begins at 50" and in 2009 played Jack Longthorp in another farce "The Love Nest".  I am currently enjoying the rehearsals as Sir Danvers Carew in the October 2010 Newbury Nomads production of Jekyll & Hyde The Musical!

  • In other lives I have worked as Research Scientist, Quality Manager and Environment, Health & Safety Advisor / consultant for various multi-national companies.  I have an honours Degree in Metallurgy (BSc (Eng) ARSM) and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).  I also hold two NEBOSH qualifications: a National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health and a Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management.  I was also a Chartered Engineer for 20 years.  This means I can also offer Technical Authoring and Environment, Health & Safety Consultancy & Web Design skills .

  • I am married to a very understanding and talented wife and together we have two talented daughters.
